According to the Immigration Office Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) the total number of 55,809 international visitors arrived in Nepal in the month of March 2014. The arrivals from South Asian region have shown overall positive growth of 1.5%. The arrivals from Bangladesh were up by 30.3 % while arrivals from India, Pakistan and Sri-Lanka declined by 2.7%, 15.1%, and 5.8% respectively. Arrivals from Asia (other than South Asia region) have also recorded positive growth of 0.6%. Visitor arrivals from Japan and Malaysia have recorded positive growth of 12.5% and 58.1% respectively compared to the figures in March 2013. However, arrivals from Peoples Republic of China, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand have registered negative growths of 3.8%, 8%, 7.2%, and 35.8% respectively. As far as long haul markets are concerned, Europe registered overall negative growth of 27.1% compared to the same month last year with total visitor arrivals of 15,502. Arrivals from Russia and Czech Republic were up by 18% and 33.3% respectively. However, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and U.K posted negative growths at this month of the year. source: NTB
