Tamang Heritage Trail passes through culturally rich and traditional Tamang villages in Langtang region near Tibetian boarder. Tamang are the indigenous inhabitant of Himalayas of Nepal. Their unchanged lifestyle since the beginning of the settlement has made this trial interesting . Their warm welcome, their traditional mountain houses, ancient monasteries, Gompas add color to this trek. Even if high peaks are not so close, this trek is less crowded with outstanding views.
Most of the villages in other Trekking trail has completely been transformed because of the guest houses and hotels built for Trekking business. But Tamang Heritage Trail, being a newly opened Trekking Trail, contains villages that are still the real ones. People living a traditional lifestyle raising livestock, farming, making baskets from bamboo are seen while passing the trail. Trekkers will have a chance to get in touch with the interesting Tamang tradition in this trek. If the trekking is done during the festival time like Loshar the trekkers can also enjoy traditional Syabru dance, Khamba dance and other wonderful performances . These performances are also done based on the trekkeers request. Another amazing factor of this trek is the natural hot spring located at Tatopani. Tatopani is said to have medicinal and healing power that is beneficial for blood purification and Rheumatism.
The starting point of Tamang Heritage Trail is Syabrubesi which is reached after a short drive from Kathmandu. The trek prevails breathtaking mountain scenery, terraced fields and Tamang populated beautiful valleys like Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. A night stay at the unique stone village of Gatlang and the home stay in Briddim are the most interesting experience in this Trek.

Best Seasons
October to December are the best season for this Trek. It's an Autumn time. Spring is from March to May. This time is also awesome for Tamang Heritage Trek when the weather is sunny and warm that allows outstanding views but nights are a little cold. December to February is winter and it is also good for this trek but you should be ready for more cold. We don't suggest this trek in mid of June to mid of September (Monsoon time).
Health & Experience Requirements
Tamang Heritage Trial Trek is a moderate level Trek and is suitable for people who are able to walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light weight back pack. You will be ascending and descending. Walking in higher altitude is physically demanding than walking in lower altitude. However, if you are in normal good health and physically fit then you can easily do this Trek. It would be best if you can exercise and jog some weeks prior to the Trek. Past hiking experience would be an advantage but no technical knowledge of climbing is required. Trekkers with pre- existing health conditions should inform us before booking the trip.
Meals
We provide a full board basis meal during the time spend in the Trekking. Nepali/ Sherpa/ Tibetan, Continental/ Italian/ Indian cuisine a day will be provided from the teahouse/lodge menus. Dinner and Breakfast are provided in the same lodge you spend the night . Whereas only breakfast will be provided in the hotel itself during your stay in Kathmandu.
