15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Package

Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition’s Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek is a trekking journey to the South base camp of Mt. Everest, with overnight stays in deluxe lodges, during the trek.

In the Everest region, deluxe lodges typically refer to higher-standard accommodations that offer more comfort and amenities (eg.rooms with better bedding, attached bathroom-often with hot showers, better insulation and cleanliness, reliable electricity, Wi-Fi or charging facilities, more varied food menus etc.) than standard lodges/teahouses, but are still simpler than the available luxury lodges in the region.

Like our Standard 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek, this is also a 15-day trekking trip that starts with your arrival in Kathmandu and ends with your departure from Kathmandu. You will take regular scheduled flights from Ramechap to Lukla and Lukla to Ramechhap to start and end the trek, respectively, follow classic Everest Base Camp trek route and be guided by experienced senior guides and assisted by local porters.

Designed to ensure realistic pacing and necessary acclimatization, this makes a very practical trek for a wide range of trekkers. Additionally, ranging between mid-budget and luxury trek, this Everest Base Camp trek makes a very good option for trekkers looking for an EBC trek package above mid-budget trek, yet below full luxury. By the end you will have a clear idea of whether this package matches your schedule, fitness and comfort level.

This Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek package is designed for:

  • Trekkers on a minimum two-week vacation in Nepal
  • Those looking for a novice-friendly, high-altitude trek itinerary
  • Travelers looking for comprehensive support from arrival to departure
  • Anyone looking for a guided and porter-assisted Everest Base Camp Treks
  • Trekkers who prefer regular scheduled flights to and from Lukla to helicopter ride
  • Trekkers who prefer a private, day-time drive to and from Ramechhap to night-time shared vehicle
  • Trekkers looking to stay in a 4 star accommodation in Kathmandu and upgraded (deluxe) accommodation with better amenities than standard ones, but less than in luxury trek, in the Everest region.
  • Trekkers wanting to meet and make memories with Everest Climbers and legendary Sherpas (plan around April-May)
  • Trekkers preferring peak-season trekking and connection over off-season trekking and isolation
  • Solo trekkers who are flexible with dates and duration of the trek to take advantage of group rates
  • Couples, families and groups with physically fit elderly and children

This Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge trek package is not designed for:

x Trekkers seeking a luxury trekking experience with high-end hotels and premium services throughout

x Budget travelers looking for the low-cost Everest Base Camp treks

x Trekkers who prefer camping-style or fully self-supported trekking

x Those unwilling to stay in lodges at high altitudes, where comfort is still limited despite “deluxe”

            standards

x Those not prepared for multi-day walking at high altitudes

x Trekkers on a less than two weeks holiday and seeking fast-paced itinerary without mandatory

           acclimatization

x Travelers with serious medical conditions that get worse with altitude or mobility limitations

This Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge trekking route:

Your 15 days Everest base camp with deluxe lodges trek itinerary begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. You will spend one night in Kathmandu. The following day you will drive to Ramechhap starting around 10-11 AM and spend the night there. The next morning you will take a flight to Lukla (Tenzing-Hillary Airport) from Ramechhap (Manthali Airport). The Everest base camp trek begins in Lukla.

From Lukla, it takes 8 days to reach the base camp of Mt. Everest. The overnight stops on the way up are Phakding, Namche, Deboche, Dingboche, Lobuche  and Gorakshep. These 8 days also include two mandatory acclimatization days (one in Namche and the other one in Digboche). The return journey to Lukla takes 3 days and your overnight stops are Pheriche/Pangboche, Namche and Lukla. The entire journey to Lukla-Everest Base Camp-Lukla is on foot. It’s a very practical  itinerary that ensures realistic pacing and safe altitude gain each day and includes mandatory acclimatization days.

After returning to Lukla, you will fly back to Ramechhap, then drive to Kathmandu for an overnight stay, before continuing with your onward journey.

This Everest Base Camp trek follows classic/standard Everest base Camp trekking route:

Lukla→Phakding→Namche→Deboche→Dingboche→Lobuche→Gorakshep→Everest Base Camp→Gorakshep→Kala Patthar→Gorakshep→Pheriche→Namche→Lukla

Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Accommodation and Meal:

The deluxe lodge Everest Base Camp trek package ensures your stay in Kathmandu in a centrally located 4-star hotel, where you will stay two nights (one before and one after the trek). In Ramechhap, for one night, before flying to Lukla, you will stay in an exclusive lodge. The accommodations in the Everest region are booked in deluxe lodges that usually provide private rooms with thicker mattresses, quality bedding and better insulation, attached or private bathrooms often with hot showers and reliable electricity, charging facilities and limited Wi-Fi where available. These deluxe lodges also place greater emphasis on hygiene, upkeep and overall condition compared to other standard lodges. Rooms at all locations (Kathmandu, Ramechhap and the overnight locations in the Everest region) are booked on a twin-sharing basis. Therefore, a single supplement is applicable for single occupancy.

Please note: Due to limited facilities in Lobuche and Gorakshep, deluxe lodges and single rooms are unavailable.

Additionally, this EBC trek package includes the service of an attached toilet/bathroom with hot shower in Phakding, Namche, Deboche, and Lukla and attached toilet only (no attached hot shower) in Dingboche and Pheriche/Pangboche. In Lobuche and Gorakshep, the toilets are common and shared by every person staying overnight in that particular lodge.

The Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek package cost also includes meals. In Kathmandu you can enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In Ramechhap, package cost includes dinner and breakfast at the resort. During the trek, in the Everest region, 3 meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), 3 cups tea or coffee and seasonal fruits for dessert is guaranteed every day. You can order the choice of your meal from the lodge/teahouse menu. Menu selections vary by location and season, but most lodges’ kitchen and teahouses serve a mix of local cuisine (rice, lentil soup, curry, Tibetan bread, Tibetan soup) and Western-style dishes such as pizza, pasta, momo, chowmein as well as noodle soup. The menus get simpler as altitude increases, but the meals are served hot and fresh each time.

Permits, Guides and Porters for deluxe lodge Everest Base Camp Trek:

This trekking package cost includes both mandatory Everest base camp trek permits: the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit (also known as the Trek Card) and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit. Both the permits are to be obtained in the Everest region, therefore, your guide will handle the process and obtain them for you locally.

This is a guided Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek; therefore, it will be led by a government-licensed, English-speaking, experienced and knowledgeable Nepali guide who will ensure your safety and manage all on-ground logistics throughout the trek. Bigger groups will be led by one main guide and assisted by the required number assistant guides. The guest-guide ratio will be 6:1.

To make the trek physically easier, comfortable and more enjoyable and to promote responsible tourism and support the local economy, this comfort-lodge Everest Base Camp Trek also includes the service of porters. Porters carry the bulk of your luggage, allowing you to hike with only a daypack containing essentials. They also assist guides when needed, particularly in remote or challenging sections. Thus, the trekker-porter ratio on this trek will be 2:1.

Thus, this 15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek cost includes all- permits, guides and porter service.

15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Difficulty Level and Daily Walking:

Like the standard EBC Trek, this Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge trek is also a 15-day EBC itinerary. Thus, the itinerary offers a practical and comfortable approach, but some inherent challenges remain. For example:

  1. The altitude: The major challenge, as both the base camp of Everest (5,364m) and Kala Patthar (5,550m), the highest points of this trek take you over 5000 meters, where the oxygen level in the air drops significantly, making breathing more difficult and increasing the risk of altitude sickness. This difficulty persists despite the style of trek.

  2. Terrain: The rocky, uneven and covered with loose stone and gravel section from Lobuche to EBC and the sections exposed to strong winds, cold temperatures and harsh weather conditions still continue to exist, which makes the hike physically demanding, irrespective of the trekking approach.

  3. Trail: The steeply ascending section of the trail, such as Hillary bridge to Namche, Phunki Tenga to Tengboche, Thukla to Thukla pass and Gorakshep to Kala Patthar aren’t avoidable, no matter the trekking style.

  4. Walking hours: The walking hours (average 5-7 hours) remains the same and can neither be shortened nor be changed , regardless of the trekking style.

However, the trek’s difficulty is balanced by the comfort of the deluxe lodges, offering a welcome retreat at the end of every day.

Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition’s effort in minimizing the difficulty on Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek:

While trekking to Everest Base Camp naturally involves high- altitude and long walking days, these challenges remain unavoidable. However, with our deluxe lodge EBC trek, we minimize difficulty by improving comfort, pacing, logistics and safety, allowing you to focus on the experience rather than hardship. For this, we…

  • Follow well-paced itinerary with adequate acclimatization days to reduce altitude stress

  • Provide experienced, government-licensed, English-speaking Nepali guides who closely monitor health, safety and daily progress

  • Provide porter support to carry your major luggage, allowing you to trek with only a light daypack

  • Handpick deluxe lodges that offer best rooms, warmer dining areas, and improved rest

  • Pre-arrange logistics, including confirmed accommodation and meals, to avoid unnecessary strain

  • Provide safety equipment, such as first aid kits and oximeter and assist with evacuation procedures

  • Provide clear daily briefing, so that you know what to expect each day and can trek with confidence

Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Common Mistakes and How We Avoid Them:

Even with deluxe lodge setup, the Everest Base Camp trek presents real challenges. Many difficulties  arise not from the trek itself, but from poor planning and execution. The most common mistakes  and our preventive measures are as follows:

  • Rushing the itinerary (ignoring mandatory acclimatization): Deluxe lodges provide comfortable accommodation at the end of the day, but they do not reduce the risk of altitude sickness, if the itinerary is rushed. Thus, we follow a standard itinerary that includes two mandatory acclimatization days.

  • Assuming ‘Deluxe’ lodges are available throughout the trek - Deluxe lodges are not available in Lobuche and Gorakshep, therefore, here the best available accommodations and upgraded rooms are booked.

  • Not pre-booking accommodations: Deluxe lodges at each nightstops are limited in number, hence, they are all booked in advance.

  • Confusing Deluxe Lodges with luxury: Help set right expectations by clearly communicating the differences between deluxe and luxury lodges and educating trekkers on mountain standards, before booking the trek.

  • No backup lodges in case of forced changes: Book backup lodges, standard lodges in case the deluxe are not available to be on a safe side.

Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Cost Drivers:

The major cost drivers of this 15 days Everest Base Camp trek package are as follows:

  • Trek duration: Know that every premium element of this trip (deluxe accommodation, meals, extra acclimatization,  guides as well as porter service) is charged per day. Stay longer on the trail, pay more.

  • Group size: Bring a group or join our existing group to enjoy a special group rate.

  • Trek style: You are investing in this package, which implies you are  choosing to  stay in a 4 star hotel in Kathmandu, deluxe lodges with additional attached toilet and hot shower facilities in the Everest region and enjoy varied food menus, service of senior guides and smaller groups.

Best season/time to plan this Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek:

This deluxe lodge EBC trek package is designed for peak trekking seasons/time in Nepal: March, April, May (Spring) and October and November (Autumn). All the available deluxe lodges in the Everest region are in full operation during these months of the year.

However, if you are planning this in winter, early booking is strongly recommended so we can secure the limited accommodation available.

The most common FAQs about Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek:

1. What makes a ‘deluxe lodge trek’ different from a standard EBC trek?

The accommodation options (4 star hotel in Kathamndu and deluxe ldoges in the Everest region) make the deluxe lodge trek different from a standard

EBC trek that only offer the option of 3 star standard hote in Kathmandu and normal-standard lodges during the trek.

2. Are deluxe lodges available throughout the trek?

No, deluxe lodges are not available throughout the trek, but till Dingboche. At Loubuche and Gorakshep, the best available lodges and

their best available rooms are booked for Everest Base Camp trek with deluxe lodge package.

3. What level of comfort can I realistically expect at the deluxe lodges throughout the trek, especially at higher altitudes where facilities are limited?

Deluxe lodges in the Everest region focus on comfort over luxury. Therefore, you should expect high-quality basic amenities, such as better bedding, attached toilet/bathrooms, hot showers, reliable electricity and charging facilities etc. Although these facilities diminish with the increase in altitude, better bedding can be expected throughout the trek, attached toilet till Dingboche and attached bathroom with hot shower facilities till Deboche. Additionally, other amenities such as electric blankets and in-room charging facilities to power your electronic devices are also available till Dingboche. These services are minimal and in some cases, unavailable in Gorakshep and Lobuche.

4. Do the lodges provide electric blankets in Lobuche and Gorakshep?

Some lodges do provide electric blankets in Lobuche and Gorakshep. However, electricity in the Everest region is generated using solar power. Therefore, electric blankets at these two overnight stops will only be available if the locally generated electricity supply can support them. Instead, as an alternative, hot water bags will be provided  to ensure warmth and comfort while sleeping.

  1. Welcome to Nepal for Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek!

This 15 days Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek with Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition begins with your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. This is the country's first and the oldest international airport.

Upon landing and after the immigration formalities and luggage collection, meet one of our company representatives who will warmly welcome you to the country and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel in Kathmandu. Upon reaching the hotel, this representative will also help you with check-in formalities. Once settled, you can take some time to rest and recover from the trip.

Later in the day, another company representative will meet you at the hotel lobby for a trip briefing. In the meeting, we will go over the trek details, settle remaining payments (if any), check your equipment and formally introduce you to your trekking guide assigned to guide and assist you on this base camp trek.

Nonetheless, if your flight is scheduled to arrive late in the afternoon, evening or even at night and if there are any delays, the briefing and introduction meeting will be held the following morning, before departing for Ramechhap. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring your hotel area at your own pace.

Overnight in a 4 star hotel in Kathmandu.

    Meals: None

  2. This day of the deluxe lodge EBC trek starts with a wholesome breakfast at your Kathmandu hotel. Fuel up as you’ve got a busy morning ahead. After breakfast, it’s time for all important gear checks. Your guide will help you finalize the gears. If any important gear is missing, you can go last-minute shopping in Thamel, Kathmandu’s famous trekking district. This is your final chance to grab those energy bars, pick some chocolates, stock up on batteries or replace any gear and exchange currency or withdraw extra Nepali Rupees. Get back to the hotel for final packing. Remember lukla flights only allow you to carry 15 kilograms (10 kg checked in and 5 kg hand luggage), thus pack only necessary and leave the rest at hotel’s storage.

You will now check out, meet your guide for a quick briefing about the day’s journey and load your bags into the waiting private vehicle. By 11:00 AM, you will hit the road toward Ramechhap.

As you leave the bustling city of Kathmandu behind, the landscape transforms into something much more peaceful. Your drive follows BP Highway through occasional Nepali villages, past terraced farmlands that cascade down hillsides, and into lush green countryside. You’ll see farmers going about their daily lives, children walking to school and roadside tea shops where locals gather for chitchat. The road gets windier as you climb into the hills, but the views make it worthwhile. This is a great time to simply watch rural Nepal unfold outside your window. On the way, you will also stop at a local restaurant along the highway for lunch. The foods served here, although not fancy, are still delicious and give you a real taste of local cuisine. Take advantage of this break to use the restroom and stretch your legs before getting back on the road.

The second half of the drive takes you deeper into the mountains. The roads grow narrower and more dramatic as you cross rivers on bridges and pass through small local towns. Soon you will arrive in Namche.

Your accommodation in Ramechhap will be near the Manthali Airport, where you’ll catch the following day’s flight to Lukla. After checking in, take a refreshing hot shower, change into something comfortable and take some time to settle in. The rooms here are clean, comfortable and cozy and provide everything you need for a good night’s rest.

You will have some time in the early evening to explore the resort grounds, charge all your back up electronic devices, organize your daypack and relax. Later your guide will brief you regarding the following day's schedule which will be followed by dinner and a good night rest.

Overnight at a resort in Ramechhap.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  3. Today will be your first day on the Everest Base Camp trail, which starts at Lukla. Before that you will fly to Lukla from Ramechhap. This transfer to Lukla is by a regularly scheduled Lukla flight. Therefore, as per your airport reporting time, your guide will transfer to Manthali Airport to fly to Lukla. After airport formalities, you will fly to Lukla. The flight time is 15 minutes, but it is a very scenic flight. Your flight leaving Ramechhap will land at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Upon landing, you will meet your porters awaiting your arrival in Lukla and transfer your luggage to them.

Depending on the airport reporting time, this day’s breakfast will either be at the hotel in Kathmandu, packed or in Lukla.

Once in Lukla, you will begin your Everest Base Camp trekking journey heading towards your first nightstop, Phakding. Perched lower in altitude than Lukla, Phakding is a very beautiful quiet  Sherpa village located roughly 8 kilometers north of Lukla along the Dudh Koshi River. Hence, the trail goes mostly downhill through to other small settlements of Sherpa people. Many parts of this section of the Everest base camp trekking trail is decorated with Mani stones, and fluttering colorful prayer flags that create a deeply spiritual and serene atmosphere along the way. Occasionally, you can also spot prayer wheels and small chortens, both central features of the region’s rich Buddhist heritage. This day’s walk will give you insight into the beliefs and culture of people living in the Everest region.

About a 4-hour walk from Lukla will take you to Phakding, where you will check into the lodge and have your lunch. Then, after a short rest, you will go on a guided acclimatization hike to the monastery located slightly above the village of Phakding, across the river. Spend some time taking in the spiritual vibes, before getting back to the lodge for dinner.

Overnight in a deluxe lodge in Phakding.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  4. Today is your second day on Everest base camp trail and you will hike to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant town in the Everest region that also serves as a local hub for commerce and life. The day’s hike begins after a hearty breakfast at your deluxe lodge in Namche.

The trail from Phakding to Hillary Bridge is quite easy. This section, running mostly along the Dudh Koshi River, takes you through tranquil Rhododendron forest and quaint villages. This section also makes you cross several suspension bridges that connect Everest Base Camp trekking trail, with Hillary Bridge being the highest and the most popular among all. From Phakding, you will first hike to Monjo, a gateway to Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where your guide will help you obtain the permit to enter the national park and take care of the required formalities. Entering the national park area, you will hike to Jorsalle for lunch. Resuming the trek after lunch, you will continue on an undulating trail to Larja Dobhan (the confluence of two rivers). Walking past the confluence you will now climb up to cross Hillary bridge. The most challenging section of this day’s trail - steep ascent for an extended stretch, altitude gain, narrow trail section often shared with fellow trekkers, guides, porters as well as yaks and the first long, sustained climb - follows the Hillary bridge. Hence, while crossing the bridge, you also need to be mentally prepared for the section ahead. Beginning your steep ascent, you will first hike to the viewpoint from where you will get your first view of Mt. Everest and then continue to Namche. The trail opens up to a horse-shoe shaped bustling town of Namche.

Although the distance is only about 10 kilometers, the journey is quite tiring because of the final steep section and the hike takes around 7-8 hours.

Upon reaching Namche, you will check into the pre-booked deluxe lodge for you. You can spend the remaining hours of the evening either resting at the lodge or exploring the town.

Overnight in a deluxe lodge in Namche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  5. As you are already above 3000 meters, one acclimatization day is mandatory to allow your body to acclimatize to the thinning air, before gaining additional elevation. Keeping active to resting boosts the process of acclimatization. Therefore, you will go on a guided acclimatization hike. Your guide will offer two acclimatization hike options in Namche: hike to Syangboche or a hike to Khunde or Khumjung Village.

The hike to Syangboche includes the visit to Hotel Everest View, once recognized by Guinness World Records as the highest-located hotel in the world. This hike also allows you to enjoy a splendid panorama of the Himalayan giants including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

The hike to the village of Khunde and Khumjung is more cultural as this takes you to two culturally-rich villages, allowing you to also explore historic Khumjung Monastery that preserves and exhibits purported Yeti Scalp and Hillary School established by Sir, Edmund Hillary and Khunde Hospital, established with support from Mr. Hillary.

Both of these hikes take you around 300-400 meters higher in altitude than Namche and allow you to return to Namche by early to mid-afternoon, giving you some free and alone time, which you can use to either rest, or explore  the town, enjoy local bakeries, browse trekking and souvenir shops.

Overnight in a deluxe lodge in Namche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  6. Today you will hike to Deboche, a beautiful village located in the woods around 12 kilometers north-east of Namche below the Tengboche Monastery. This day’s hike is also challenging as it includes some steep sections.

Leaving Namche after breakfast, you will start your journey to Deboche. The hike from Namche to Sanasa is fairly easy as the trail ascends almost unnoticeably. Immersing in the splendid view of Ama Dablam, you will walk past the memorial stupa of the legendary Tenzing Norgay and come to a village called Kyangjuma (located roughly 4 kilometers from Namche), that offers a magical view of Mt. Ama Dablam. Continuing further, you will reach Sanasa, where the trail to Gokyo forks off from the Everest Base Camp trail.

Following the Everest Base Camp trail, you will now continue down to Phunki Tenga. This is a steep descent through the forest. At Phunki Tenga, you will have your lunch, and get ready to hike the most challenging section of the day’s trail. Crossing the bridge at Phunki Tenga, you will hike up on a steeply ascending trail through the forest of rhododendron and pine toward Tengboche. This section demands about 2 hours of your day’s hiking time, but serene forest ambiance, prayer flags and occasional glimpses of the distant peaks help break up the climb. As you approach Tengboche, the landscape opens up revealing sweeping views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse.

In Tengboche, you will visit the infamous Tengboche Monastery, which is also a spiritual heart of the Everest region. Here, if you are interested and if the time allows, you will observe the monks during their daily prayers, offering a quiet and meaningful cultural experience against the dramatic Himalayan backdrop and also take blessings from them.

After the monastery visit, you will continue down to Deboche, which is about a 20 minutes downhill walk from Tengboche. Here you will check into the lodge for dinner and accommodation.

Overnight in a deluxe lodge in Deboche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  7. After an early breakfast at your lodge in Deboche, you will set out on a beautifully paced walk toward Dingboche, a meaningful and memorable stage of the journey as the trail begins to transition into true high-alpine terrain. Today is particularly special as it marks your first day above the treeline and your first overnight stay above 4000 meters, where the landscape opens up and the Himalayas feel closer and more commanding.

Leaving Deboche, the trail gently descends before reaching the final suspension bridge on the route to EBC. Once across, the character of the trek subtly changes. Dense forest begins to thin, the valley widens and the trail follows the Imja Khola, with dramatic peaks rising steadily around you.

For those who wish, a short and worthwhile detour leads to Pangboche Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu region. Smaller and quieter than Tengboche, it holds deep spiritual importance for the local Sherpa community and offers a peaceful, reflective pause amidst the mountains.

Continuing onward, you’ll clearly feel the shift into high-altitude terrain. Trees give way to alpine shrubs and wide, open valleys, while stone-walled fields protect hardy crops from the cold Himalayan winds. The air grows thinner, your walking pace naturally slows, and your guide will encourage steady movement and regular hydration—essential habits as you gain elevation.

Lunch is arranged along the way, typically in Pangboche or Somare, allowing time to rest and take in the ever-expanding mountain views. The afternoon walk is a gentle, gradual ascent through vast landscapes, accompanied by breathtaking panoramas of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Imja Tse, and the sweeping Imja Valley.

By mid to late afternoon, you arrive in Dingboche, a striking high-altitude village set against a backdrop of towering peaks and open skies. After checking into your lodge, the remainder of the day is yours to relax—enjoy a warm meal, unwind in the comfort of your lodge, and allow your body the time it needs to adjust to the altitude.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  8. As you are above 4000 meters, your body now needs time to acclimatize to the altitude. Therefore, just like the acclimatization day in Namche, this day in Dingboche is also designed to support your body’s natural adaptation to altitude through gentle activity, rest and proper hydration.

Here as well, you will be provided with two day hiking trail options for acclimatization: Half-day hike to Nangkartshang Viewpoint or full-day hike to Chhukung Valley.

Nangkartshang is the most common option between the two. This hike takes you to Nangkartshang viewpoint located just above the settlement of Dingboche. It is steep, but short. The top presents a very stunning panorama of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Island Peak and the surrounding Imja Valley. You will start this hike after breakfast and return before lunch time. This allows you to relax in the afternoon.

Hiking to Chhukung takes a full day. Therefore, you will start after breakfast carrying a packed lunch. Chhukung, during peak season, serves as a very important overnight stop for climbers attempting Island Peak. Unlike the hike to Nangkartshang, this hike gradually gains elevation, providing excellent acclimatization benefits due to the sustained time spent above 4,700 meters. You can enjoy a grand view of Ama Dablam, Island Peak and Lhotse and the glaciers that flow down from the surrounding peaks. You will return to Dingboche around late afternoon.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  9. After breakfast at your lodge in Dingboche, you will set out towards Lobuche, continuing deeper into the high-alpine heart of the Everest region. The scenery becomes more raw and dramatic with each step: wide open valleys, glacial terrain, and towering Himalayan giants dominating the horizon. At this altitude, the air is noticeably thinner, so your guide will set a slow, comfortable pace, encouraging regular breaks and steady hydration to keep you feeling strong and relaxed.

Leaving Dingboche, the trail heads north along a broad, gently rising path toward Thukla. This section is relatively easy and allows you to settle into a natural rhythm while taking in expansive views of Cholatse, Tawache and the distant Ama Dablam. The landscape is dry and open, dotted with alpine grasses and yak pastures, a clear sign that the treeline is nowhere near to you.

At Thukla, you’ll take a short tea break and prepare mentally for the demanding section ahead. From here, the trail climbs steeply to the Thukla Pass. Though short, this ascent is taken slowly and steadily, with frequent pauses to catch your breath. At the top, you’ll encounter a series of stone memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Set against the powerful Himalayan backdrop, this is a quiet, moving place that invites reflection.

Beyond the pass, the trail eases as it follows the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. While the terrain remains rocky and uneven, there are no major climbs. The vast glacial landscape created a striking sense of remoteness- snow covered peaks surround you and the environment feels start, silent and deeply humbling.

By late afternoon you will arrive in Lobuche, a small high-altitude settlement made up primarily of trekking lodges. After checking in, you can rest, warm up and enjoy a nourishing meal as your body recovers from the day’s walk.

At this elevation, your guide will keep a close eye on how you are feeling, as altitude effects can become more noticeable. Staying warm, well-hydrated and properly rested is essential here.

  10. Today is the most awaited day of this trek- the Everest Base Camp Day. Although the distance covered today is only about 10 kilometers, the walk feels longer due to the effects of altitude. Therefore, making slow and steady pace with regular breaks is very essential.

Leaving Lobuche after early morning breakfast, and following the gradually ascending trail that runs along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier you will begin your journey toward EBC. The terrain is rocky and uneven, with loose stone and glacial debris underfoot, requiring careful footing. As you walk, the landscape feels stark and other worldly, surrounded by towering and massive Himalayan peaks such as Pumori, Nuptse and Lingtren.

After a few hours of walking on this terrain, you will reach Gorakshep, the last overnight stop for trekkers on Everest Base Camp trek. At Gorakshep, you will check into the lodge, leave your main luggage and only carry your daypack with essentials, such as water, phone, camera, jacket etc. and start your final push to the base camp.

From Gorakshep, the trail traces the ever-shifting edge of the Khumbu Glacier, following a rugged glacial path that is often considered the most demanding section of the entire trek. While there is little overall elevation gain, the terrain constantly rises and falls over rocks, ice and moraine, requiring steady footing and patience. Taken at a calm, unhurried pace, this walk is as much about focus as it is about endurance.

By early to mid-afternoon, you will reach your ultimate destination, ‘the Everest Base Camp’, a milestone only a few places on earth can rival. During peak climbing season, colorful expedition tents dot the glacier and the immense Khumbu Icefall looms nearby, its jagged towers of ice creating a dramatic and humbling backdrop. Although Everest is not visible from here, standing here among the highest peaks is deeply moving, a moment of quiet pride, reflection and awe.

You will have time to take photos, absorb the atmosphere and appreciate how far you’ve come before beginning your return journey, which today will only be till Gorakshep. Retracing your steps along the same glacial trail, you will hike back to Gorakshep, maintaining a gentle pace.

Upon returning to Gorakshep, you can relax, enjoy a warm meal and reflect on an unforgettable achievement in the heart of the Himalayas.

Dinner and overnight in the best-available lodges in Gorakshep.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  11. This day on Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek begins early, before sunrise, as you prepare for the optional but worthwhile hike to Kala Patthar. Dressed in warm layers and with a headlamp, you will head out into the crisp morning air. The climb is short, but steep and while the altitude makes it challenging, the effort is more than worth it.

Reaching the summit of Kala Pattahr at sunrise is often the highlight of the trek as it allows you to witness a breathtaking panoramic view, with Everest towering in front of you, along with Nuptse, Pumori, Lingtren and the vast Khumbu Glacier. As the sun rises, the changing colors of the peaks create a moment of pure magic, one you’ll carry with you forever.

After treating your eyes it's now time to treat your tummy for which you will now descend to the lodge in Gorakshep. Refueled and rested, you’ll start your return journey, leaving the rugged glacial terrain behind.

The trail retraces your steps past Lobuche to Thukla, gradually descending into the wider valleys. With each step, the landscape softens and your breathing becomes easier. Depending on how the group is feeling, you’ll continue down to Pheriche or Pangboche, both at lower elevation and offering a more comfortable accommodation for night’s rest.

As you descend, the return of alpine grasslands and distant views of Ama Dablam signals your re-entry into the lower altitude. By afternoon, you’ll reach your lodge, where you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and reflect on a truly rewarding day.

Dinner and overnight in a deluxe lodge in Pheriche or Pangboche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  12. A hearty breakfast at your lodge, and you will begin a long descent back to Namche. While today’s walk follows familiar terrain, the lower altitude and increased oxygen also make it feel noticeably easier and more comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the scenery in a whole new way.

Leaving Pheriche, the trail gently winds downhill through open alpine valleys, with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Tawache still visible behind you. Continuing past Pangboche, the landscape transitions from the barren high-altitude terrain, back to lush alpine meadows and shrubs. As you lose altitude, the air warms, and your pace naturally quickens, making for a more relaxed walk.

Crossing the first suspension bridge of the day, you’ll gradually enter the forest , passing Deboche and the iconic Tengboche. From here, the trail takes you  on a steep descent through vibrant rhododendron and pine forest, leading you to Phunki Tenga, the perfect sport for a restful lunch. It’s a great place to recharge before tackling the final climb of the day.

After lunch, the trail ascends steeply through the dense first towards Sanasa. Once you reach Sanasa, the path levels out, offering a scenic contour walk back into Namche, with beautiful valley views that signal your approach to this Sherpa town. By mid to late afternoon, you will arrive in Namche and check into your lodge, feeling a sense of accomplishment from the day’s trek.

Unwind in your own way in the evening - take a well deserved hot shower, explore the town’s charming bakeries and shops or simply rest and relax after completing the challenging high-altitude portion of you journey.

Dinner and overnight stay in a deluxe lodge in Namche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinne

  13. After a delicious breakfast at your lodge in Namche, you will set out on the final day of your Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek, retracing steps back to Lukla. Although the journey is mostly downhill, it’s still a long day, so maintaining a steady pace and careful footing is the key.

Leaving Namche, the trail descends steeply toward the Dudh Koshi River, offering one final view of Everest, before entering the forested lower sections. After crossing the Hillary Bridge, you’ll follow the familiar path through pine and rhododendron forests, passing small villages, mani stones and prayer wheels, a comforting reminder of the cultural richness of the region.

The route undulates gently as you pass through Monjo and Phakding, with a relaxing lunch at a teahouse along the way. The easier terrain and lower altitude make this section more comfortable, offering a chance to reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed.

By afternoon, you will reach Lukla, where the trek officially ends. After checking into your lodge, take time to relax- perhaps a hot shower, or simply a moment to celebrate the successful completion of your trek with your team members.

In the evening, say a heartfelt goodbye to your porters, who have supported you every step of the way.

Dinner and overnight stay in a deluxe lodge in Lukla.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  14. Savor your final breakfast in the Everest region while soaking in those incredible mountain views one last time. While you're enjoying your meal, your guide will handle all the airport formalities so you don't have to worry about a thing. Then it's time for your flight back to Ramechhap, retracing that spectacular route through the Himalayas.

When you land in Ramechhap, your vehicle will be ready and waiting to whisk you back to Kathmandu. Settle in for the five-hour drive through the beautiful Nepali countryside—those terraced fields and traditional villages will look different now that you're returning as a seasoned trekker who's conquered Everest Base Camp. Around lunchtime, you'll stop at one of the familiar roadside restaurants along the highway for a well-deserved meal before continuing your journey back to the capital.

Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you'll be transferred to your hotel where you can finally check in and enjoy a proper hot shower. Take some time to rest, unpack, and maybe start processing everything you've just experienced. In the evening, one of the company representatives will meet you for a special farewell dinner. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your favorite moments from the trek, provide feedback about your experience, and celebrate your incredible achievement with good food and great company. After dinner, you'll head back to your comfortable hotel room for a peaceful night's sleep in Kathmandu, your first in civilization after days in the mountains.

"Several months ago, a friend of mine came back from world-round-trip and said, “A.B.C trekking is what you cannot see in any other places but Nepal”, and excitingly showed me a lot of incredibly beautiful pictures from the mountain and the country, Nepal. The story he shared caught my heart and strongly made me want to visit this country. And now, I also strongly recommend this adventure into wild nature. This is the reason why I am here, coming back from 10days Annapurna base camp(A.B.C) to write a review for one of the best agency (Adventure Mountain Explore Treks & Expedition P. Ltd) in Kathmandu and for you. What I have found during this trip is that this trip is therapeutic, educational, and exciting. First of all, in the mountain area, there are no such things as mobile, familiar TV show, disturbing noise, and annoying friends. You are literally surrounded by nature and all you can trust is your guide and your heart. You also have much free time in the mountain, which makes you think a lot about your future. Second, trekking is educational. You may see a various people from around the world as well as local people. This, I believe, is the best way of getting to know each other, as you will see them again and again during the trail. Exchanging their personal story and back ground helps you grow your personality as well. Third, it is exciting. There is no question about it. When I saw the panorama view from A.B.C, I got so excited that I could not take my camera away (I am sure I took more than 100 pictures and video there). That was defiantly worth it. Now, I am going to share a bit about my trekking partner, my guide, Lok Bhatta. He is friendly guy. He is not only experienced guide, but he knows how he can entertain us during the whole trip. His caring and his humor take up my good memory of trip. Since Lok and I spent 11days together, it is no wonder we became a best friends. Also he persistently looks after me. When I wanted him to take pictures, he always s..."

"My mother and I arrived in Kathmandu with just 2 days to prepare for a trek around Annapurna Circuit. We feel very lucky to have met Mr. Tika Regmi and through Adventure Mountain Explore treks we were able to hire a porter-guide to facilitate exactly the kind of trek we wanted, a self-directed trek with Nepali assistance. Our porter-guide Sujan was a trusted and integral part of our little trekking party. He was very knowledgeable about the route, its hotels and side trips, and he even introduced us to local people and gave us interactions with local Nepalese that we could not have experienced on our own, like a tea in the home of a local family! We couldn’t be any more pleased with our trek. Shanna Simmons 1152 Crescent Avenue Klamath Falls, OR 97601 USA shannasimmons@hotmail.com"

"Thanks Tika We arrived in Kathmandu on November 4, 2011 with hopes to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek to Muktinah. We had no firm guide or porters arranged as yet but were lucky to stay at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Thamel where we met Tika Regmi at the Hotel Blue Horizon. Tika is the director of Adventure Mountain Explore which wa located across the street. With Tika's expert help, our trek was arranged with an extraordinary guide, Sittal "Hom" Simkhada and two equally adept porters, Santosh Uperkoti and Sanjeep. Sittal knew the trail very well having done it more than 25 times. He provided information and insights about each peak and landmark along the way. He guided us up and down with care and confidence, setting a good pace that worked for each of us, our ages being 69, 67, and 30 years old. Sittal also got us to our teahouse rooms promptly and made sure we got our meals on time. We never had to ask for service; it was always provided with a smile. We enjoyed the camaraderie or our guide and porters and spent time playing cards together and exchanging stories. Clearly Sittal loved what he was doing and was experienced with every aspect of being a guide. When our daughter became ill along the way in Manang, Sittal conferred with Tika and we took an extra day to make sure all was well before continuing. There was no pressure to move on before we felt ready. When we reached the summit at Thorang la Pass we all celebrated together. It was a group achievement as well as a personal one for each of us. We are pleased to recommend Tika Regni as trek organizer and Sittal Simkhada as guide with our highest esteem and respect.
