15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Package
Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition’s Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek is a trekking journey to the South base camp of Mt. Everest, with overnight stays in deluxe lodges, during the trek.
In the Everest region, deluxe lodges typically refer to higher-standard accommodations that offer more comfort and amenities (eg.rooms with better bedding, attached bathroom-often with hot showers, better insulation and cleanliness, reliable electricity, Wi-Fi or charging facilities, more varied food menus etc.) than standard lodges/teahouses, but are still simpler than the available luxury lodges in the region.
Like our Standard 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek, this is also a 15-day trekking trip that starts with your arrival in Kathmandu and ends with your departure from Kathmandu. You will take regular scheduled flights from Ramechap to Lukla and Lukla to Ramechhap to start and end the trek, respectively, follow classic Everest Base Camp trek route and be guided by experienced senior guides and assisted by local porters.

It’s a very practical itinerary that ensures realistic pacing and safe altitude gain each day and includes mandatory acclimatization days.

This Everest Base Camp trek follows classic/standard Everest base Camp trekking route:
Lukla→Phakding→Namche→Deboche→Dingboche→Lobuche→Gorakshep→Everest Base Camp→Gorakshep→Kala Patthar→Gorakshep→Pheriche→Namche→Lukla
Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Accommodation and Meal:
The deluxe lodge Everest Base Camp trek package ensures your stay in Kathmandu in a centrally located 4-star hotel, where you will stay two nights (one before and one after the trek). In Ramechhap, for one night, before flying to Lukla, you will stay in an exclusive lodge. The accommodations in the Everest region are booked in deluxe lodges that usually provide private rooms with thicker mattresses, quality bedding and better insulation, attached or private bathrooms often with hot showers and reliable electricity, charging facilities and limited Wi-Fi where available. These deluxe lodges also place greater emphasis on hygiene, upkeep and overall condition compared to other standard lodges. Rooms at all locations (Kathmandu, Ramechhap and the overnight locations in the Everest region) are booked on a twin-sharing basis. Therefore, a single supplement is applicable for single occupancy.
Please note: Due to limited facilities in Lobuche and Gorakshep, deluxe lodges and single rooms are unavailable.
Additionally, this EBC trek package includes the service of an attached toilet/bathroom with hot shower in Phakding, Namche, Deboche, and Lukla and attached toilet only (no attached hot shower) in Dingboche and Pheriche/Pangboche. In Lobuche and Gorakshep, the toilets are common and shared by every person staying overnight in that particular lodge.
The Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek package cost also includes meals. In Kathmandu you can enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In Ramechhap, package cost includes dinner and breakfast at the resort. During the trek, in the Everest region, 3 meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), 3 cups tea or coffee and seasonal fruits for dessert is guaranteed every day. You can order the choice of your meal from the lodge/teahouse menu. Menu selections vary by location and season, but most lodges’ kitchen and teahouses serve a mix of local cuisine (rice, lentil soup, curry, Tibetan bread, Tibetan soup) and Western-style dishes such as pizza, pasta, momo, chowmein as well as noodle soup. The menus get simpler as altitude increases, but the meals are served hot and fresh each time.
Permits, Guides and Porters for deluxe lodge Everest Base Camp Trek:
This trekking package cost includes both mandatory Everest base camp trek permits: the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit (also known as the Trek Card) and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit. Both the permits are to be obtained in the Everest region, therefore, your guide will handle the process and obtain them for you locally.
This is a guided Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek; therefore, it will be led by a government-licensed, English-speaking, experienced and knowledgeable Nepali guide who will ensure your safety and manage all on-ground logistics throughout the trek. Bigger groups will be led by one main guide and assisted by the required number assistant guides. The guest-guide ratio will be 6:1.
To make the trek physically easier, comfortable and more enjoyable and to promote responsible tourism and support the local economy, this comfort-lodge Everest Base Camp Trek also includes the service of porters. Porters carry the bulk of your luggage, allowing you to hike with only a daypack containing essentials. They also assist guides when needed, particularly in remote or challenging sections. Thus, the trekker-porter ratio on this trek will be 2:1.
Thus, this 15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek cost includes all- permits, guides and porter service.
15 days Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Difficulty Level and Daily Walking:
Like the standard EBC Trek, this Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge trek is also a 15-day EBC itinerary. Thus, the itinerary offers a practical and comfortable approach, but some inherent challenges remain. For example:
-
The altitude: The major challenge, as both the base camp of Everest (5,364m) and Kala Patthar (5,550m), the highest points of this trek take you over 5000 meters, where the oxygen level in the air drops significantly, making breathing more difficult and increasing the risk of altitude sickness. This difficulty persists despite the style of trek.
-
Terrain: The rocky, uneven and covered with loose stone and gravel section from Lobuche to EBC and the sections exposed to strong winds, cold temperatures and harsh weather conditions still continue to exist, which makes the hike physically demanding, irrespective of the trekking approach.
-
Trail: The steeply ascending section of the trail, such as Hillary bridge to Namche, Phunki Tenga to Tengboche, Thukla to Thukla pass and Gorakshep to Kala Patthar aren’t avoidable, no matter the trekking style.
-
Walking hours: The walking hours (average 5-7 hours) remains the same and can neither be shortened nor be changed , regardless of the trekking style.
However, the trek’s difficulty is balanced by the comfort of the deluxe lodges, offering a welcome retreat at the end of every day.

Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Common Mistakes and How We Avoid Them:
Even with deluxe lodge setup, the Everest Base Camp trek presents real challenges. Many difficulties arise not from the trek itself, but from poor planning and execution. The most common mistakes and our preventive measures are as follows:
-
Rushing the itinerary (ignoring mandatory acclimatization): Deluxe lodges provide comfortable accommodation at the end of the day, but they do not reduce the risk of altitude sickness, if the itinerary is rushed. Thus, we follow a standard itinerary that includes two mandatory acclimatization days.
-
Assuming ‘Deluxe’ lodges are available throughout the trek - Deluxe lodges are not available in Lobuche and Gorakshep, therefore, here the best available accommodations and upgraded rooms are booked.
-
Not pre-booking accommodations: Deluxe lodges at each nightstops are limited in number, hence, they are all booked in advance.
-
Confusing Deluxe Lodges with luxury: Help set right expectations by clearly communicating the differences between deluxe and luxury lodges and educating trekkers on mountain standards, before booking the trek.
-
No backup lodges in case of forced changes: Book backup lodges, standard lodges in case the deluxe are not available to be on a safe side.
Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek Cost Drivers:
The major cost drivers of this 15 days Everest Base Camp trek package are as follows:
-

However, if you are planning this in winter, early booking is strongly recommended so we can secure the limited accommodation available.
