15 days Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek

Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition’s Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek is a multi-day trekking journey to the South base camp of Mt. Everest, with overnight stays in luxury lodges available en route to and from Everest Base Camp.

Luxury lodges in the Everest region do not refer to lodges that provide city-style luxury, but the ones that ensure the highest level of comfort, warmth and reliability in remote, high-altitude, and challenging mountain conditions. These lodges are designed to help you rest better, stay warm, and recover properly between trekking days. These are the top level accommodation options that are higher in comfort, service quality and facilities compared to both standard and deluxe lodges.

Like our Standard Everest Base Camp Trek and Everest Base Camp Deluxe Lodge Trek, this Everest Base Camp trek with luxury lodges is also a 15 days Everest Base Camp trek that starts with your arrival in Kathmandu and ends with your departure from Kathmandu. You will follow the classic Everest Base Camp trek route and be guided by experienced guides and assisted by local porters. Your transportation to and from Lukla will also either be a regularly scheduled direct flight or a shared helicopter.

This Everest Base Camp luxury trek itinerary also ensures all mandatory acclimatization and a very realistic pacing to make it suitable for trekkers with different fitness levels. Additionally, ranging between deluxe lodge and ultimate luxury, this EBC Trek makes a perfect option for trekkers looking for an EBC Trek package above deluxe lodge trek, but below the ultimate luxury. By the end you will have a clear idea of whether this package matches your schedule, fitness, comfort level and expectation.

The Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge trekking route:

This 15 days Everest Base Camp luxury trek itinerary begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. You will spend two nights in Kathmandu before starting the actual trek.

On the second day in Nepal’s enchanting capital, you’ll embark on an exclusive cultural journey through the Kathmandu Valley, exploring its magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Sites with your private guide. This experience offers you an intimate glimpse into centuries of rich history, stunning architecture and spiritual traditions that have shaped this mystical valley. From ancient temple complexes adorned with intricate wood carving to sacred stupas, you’ll discover the very heart and soul of Nepal’s cultural heritage.

On the third day, you will fly to Lukla, taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport, either  in a direct flight or a shared helicopter, soaring high above the terraced hills and dramatic landscape and making way through the towering hills and mountains and ultimately landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, one of the world top airports that gives you a thrilling landing experience.

Starting from Lukla, it’s 8 days to the Everest Base Camp. These 8 days also include the two mandatory acclimatization days (one in Namche and the other one in Dingboche). Overnight stops during the ascent are made at Phakding, Namche, Deboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakshep. The return journey from Everest Base Camp to Lukla takes 3 days and the overnight stops are made at Pheriche, Namche and Lukla. This is a fully on-foot journey from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and back, preserving the true spirit of the trek. The itinerary follows a well-balanced progression, combining realistic pacing with safe altitude gains and built-in acclimatization days.

Upon completion of the Everest Base Camp trek, from Lukla you will fly back to Kathmandu (on a direct flight or a shared helicopter) for overnight stay, before ending the trip with Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition.

The Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge trek also follows classic/standard EBC trekking route:

Lukla→Phakding→Namche→Deboche→Dingboche→Lobuche→Gorakshep→Everest Base Camp→Goraksehp→Kala Patthar→Gorakshep→Pheriche→Namche→Lukla

Luxury Lodge Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation and Meal:

The Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge package not just ensures luxury accommodation in the Everest region, but also in Kathmandu, wherein your overnight stay will be in a very conveniently located 5 star hotel that features city-style luxury. In Kathmandu, you will spend three nights (two before and one after the trek).

In the Everest region, stays are arranged at luxury lodges, where available, to ensure maximum comfort. Luxury lodges in the Everest region are mostly limited to lower-altitude locations, such as Phakding, Namche, Deboche and Lukla. Luxury lodges at these locations ensure clean, quieter, and spacious private rooms, often finished with natural wood interiors and tasteful furnishing, to offer a warm and inviting mountain-lodge atmosphere. Furthermore, the rooms feature comfortable beds with quality linens, soft lighting, and cozy seating area to create a relaxed and welcoming space. These rooms often have large windows to allow ample natural light, making it an ideal retreat to unwind and recover after a rewarding day in the Himalayas. To add more comfort, the rooms are equipped with attached or private bathrooms with reliable hot showers, powered by solar or gas heating. Besides, these room amenities also include free WiFi and device charging facilities, reading lamps, unlimited boiled and filtered drinking water, bathroom slippers and hair dryers on request. The lodges also feature heated dining and comfortable socializing areas, providing a warm and inviting space to relax, enjoy meals and connect with fellow trekkers.

Nevertheless, where luxury lodges are unavailable, we carefully arrange stays at the best available deluxe lodges (Pheriche and Dingboche). In locations where deluxe lodges are also unavailable (Lobuche and Gorakshep), we secure the most comfortable rooms in the finest available lodges, ensuring the highest possible standard throughout the journey.

On this luxury lodge Everest trek, you can enjoy the service of an attached toilet/bathroom with hot shower in Phakding, Namche, Deboche and Lukla and attached toilet only (without hot shower) in Dingboche and Pheriche. In Lobuche and Gorakshep, however, the toilets are common and shared by everyone staying overnight in that particular lodge.

Moreover, the rooms at all locations (including Kathmandu) are provided on a twin-sharing basis. But single rooms can be provided at an additional cost. Single rooms, however, are unavailable in Lobuche and Gorakshep.

The Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek package also includes thoughtfully arranged meals throughout your journey. In Kathmandu, enjoy an exotic breakfast at a five-star hotel and a specially hosted farewell dinner. Throughout your trek, each meal is crafted to provide both nourishment and comfort, with menus thoughtfully tailored to the location and season. At lower elevations, enjoy a gourmet blend of Himalayan specialties—like dal bhat, flavorful curries, Tibetan breads, and warming soups—alongside Western favorites such as pasta, pizza, momo, and noodle dishes. As you ascend, the menu is simplified to suit high-altitude needs, but every dish is served hot, fresh, and with attention to flavor, ensuring a truly satisfying and restorative dining experience in the heart of the Himalayas.

Permits, Guides and Porters for luxury lodge Everest Base Camp Trek:

Similar to other Everest Base Camp trekking packages, this EBC trek package also includes all mandatory Everest Base Camp trek permits: the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit (Trek Card) and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit. These permits should be obtained locally and your guide will take care of the entire process on your behalf for a smooth and hassle-free experience.

This is a guided Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek; therefore, the trek will be led by government-licensed, English-speaking and a very  proficient senior guide or a climbing sherpa. Your guide, along with ensuring your safety, will also manage all on-ground logistics throughout the trek. For larger groups, assistant guides will accompany the main guide to ensure smooth coordination and personalized attention throughout the trek. The guest-guide ratio will be 6:1.

On this trek, one porter will be assigned for every two guests, ensuring your luggage is carried safely so you can enjoy the journey with ease. All porters are strong, physically fit and local to the Everest region, bringing invaluable knowledge of the terrain and culture. By employing local porters, your trek also supports the Himalayan community and contributes to the region’s sustainable economy, allowing you to travel responsibly, while experiencing the mountains in comfort.

Thus, this 15 days Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek cost includes all - permits and guide and porter support.

15 days Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek Challenge and Daily Walking:

Like standard and deluxe lodge Everest base camp trek itineraries, Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek is also a 15-day itinerary offering a very practical and comfortable approach, however some inherent challenges still remain unavoidable. For example,

  1. Challenge related to altitude: The location of the base camp and Kala Patthar, both over 5000 meters, means the air is thinner and oxygen levels are lower, which can lead to altitude-related fatigue and discomfort.

  2. Terrain: Rocky, uneven terrain, especially on the sections around the Khumbu Glacier and higher-altitude trail, can be physically demanding and requires careful footing.

  3. Trail: The steeply ascending sections, particularly on the way to Namche, Tengboche, Thukla Pass and Kala Patthar can be physically challenging and require a steady pace.

  4. Walking hours: Despite the trekking style and added comfort, the average walking hours still remains the same, that is, 5-7 hours every day, which can neither be changed nor shortened.

Nevertheless, the luxury that awaits at the end of the day makes every step worth it, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating experience after a day of trekking.

Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition’s effort in minimizing the difficulty on Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek:

Some challenges, such as high-altitude, difficult terrain as well as long walking days still persist, despite the style of the trek. However, supplementing the comfort, logistics and safety, we attempt to add thoughtful touches that elevate your overall Everest trekking experience.

For this, we..

  • Follow an unrushed itinerary that ensures all mandatory acclimatization days to minimize altitude-related stress.
  • Assign the task of leading the group to a very proficient, senior, government-licensed guide, whose expertise and experience elevate the trek into a safe, seamless and enriching experience.
  • Include porter support to carry your major luggage, allowing you to trek with only a daypack carrying essentials
  • Accommodate you in Everest Base Camp trek’s high-end lodges. Use deluxe lodges where luxury lodges are available and use the best available lodges and their best rooms where both luxury and deluxe lodges are not available to elevate comfort and give you a good night’s rest at the end of the day.
  • Book the accommodations in advance to avoid last-minute hassle
  • Provide safety equipment, first aid kit, oximeter and assist with evacuation procedures (if necessary)
  • Book regularly scheduled direct flight or shared helicopter for transfer between Kathmandu and Lukla
  • Provide clear daily briefing to help you understand the following day’s journey and build confidence

Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek Common Mistakes and How We Avoid Them:

Everest Base Camp Luxury trek planning often comes with avoidable mistakes that can impact comfort, safety and overall experience. Some common mistakes and how we avoid them are as follows:

  • Rushing itinerary: Luxury accommodations only guarantee elevated comfort and do not reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Therefore, this EBC luxury lodge package includes both mandatory acclimatization days and the itinerary is well paced.
  • Assuming luxury lodges throughout the trek: Luxury lodges are only available till Deboche, therefore, beyond this point, we will be booking deluxe lodges where available and the best rooms in the best available lodges, where even deluxe lodges are unavailable.
  • Fail to check the availability before booking: Luxury lodges are very limited in number (1 or 2) in each night stop, that also only till Deboche. For this reason these fill up very quickly. We will thus check the availability, before taking your booking.

Luxury Lodge Everest Base Camp Trek Major Cost Drivers:

The major cost drivers of this 15 days EBC luxury lodge trek package are as follows:

  • Trek duration: Every premium element of this trip is charged per day. Thus, the longer you spend on the trail, the more you pay.
  • Group size: The cost of porter, guide as well as accommodation gets divided among the group members, therefore, enjoy special package price by joining our existing groups.
  • Luxury accommodations: 5 star hotels in Kathmandu and the best available luxury and deluxe lodges included in this package are the major cost drivers.
  • Direct flight or a shared helicopter: Your transfer to and from Lukla as per this package is either direct flight or a shared helicopter, which are both a bit costlier than flights that fly from and to  Ramechhap.

Best season/time to plan this Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek:

This Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek package is designed for peak trekking season/time in Nepal, that is, March, April, May (Spring) and October and November (Autumn), because all the luxury and deluxe lodges are in full operation during these months of the year.

However, for off-season travel, that is, winter (mid-December to end of February) or monsoon (mid-June to September), bookings will be confirmed only after we verify that the luxury and deluxe lodges are open and ready to provide service.

The most common FAQs about Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek:

1. Why is Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek costlier than Everest Base Camp deluxe lodge trek?

Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek ensures luxury lodge accommodations in Lukla, Phakding, Namche and Deboche. These lodges offer the highest level of comfort available in a mountain environment, surpassing the comfort provided by the deluxe lodges. Additionally, this package includes either direct flight or a shared helicopter transfer directly from Kathmandu to Lukla and back. Hence, EBC luxury lodge trek is costlier than the deluxe lodge EBC trek.

2. Are luxury lodges available through the trek?

No, luxury lodges are not available throughout the trek. They are only available in Lukla, Phakding, Monjo, Namche and Deboche.

3. What will be the accommodation options where luxury lodges are unavailable?

Where luxury lodges are unavailable, the accommodation options will be deluxe lodges that are available in Dingboche and Pheriche and the best available lodges with best available room in Lobuche and Gorakshep.

4. How are deluxe lodges defined in the Everest region?

Well, deluxe lodges in the Everest region refer to higher-standard accommodation that provide greater comfort and better amenities than the standard lodges, while remaining simpler than the region's full luxury lodge options. For example, these are the lodges that provide rooms with better bedding, better insulation and cleanliness, reliable electricity, WiFi and charging facilities and attached toilet (without hot shower) as well as the varied food menus, but not full luxury.

5. Do I need to pay extra for a helicopter, if you cannot get me a direct flight from Kathmandu?

No, even if we cannot get direct flights for you, we will be arranging a shared helicopter for you to fly to and from Lukla at no additional cost.

  1. Welcome to Nepal for Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek!

This 15 days Everest Base Camp Luxury lodge trek with Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition begins with your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

Upon arrival and after the completion of the immigration formalities and luggage collection, meet one of our company representatives at the arrival area, who will warmly welcome you to Nepal and transfer you to your pre-booked 5 star hotel in Kathmandu. Upon reaching the hotel, this representative will also assist you with hotel check-in formalities. Once settled, take some time to rest and recover from the trip.

Later in the day, another company representative will meet you at the hotel lobby for a short pre-trek meeting. In the meeting, we will go over the trek details, settle remaining payments (if any), check your equipment and formally introduce you to your trekking guide assigned to guide and assist you on this trek to EBC.

But, if your flight is scheduled to arrive late in the afternoon, evening, or even at night and if there are any delays, the briefing and introduction meeting will be held the following day, after the sightseeing tour. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the town.

Overnight in a 5 star hotel in Kathmandu.

    Meals: None

  2. After a comfortable night in Kathmandu and a buffet breakfast at your hotel, spend the day on a relaxed and immersive sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural and historical treasures.

The sightseeing tour  starts around 9:30-10:00am. The vehicle used for the tour will be private. On this tour, you will visit 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Since the tour is guided, your guide will help you understand the history, traditions and stories associated with these sites.

The tour usually starts with a visit to Swayambhunath, also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’. It is one of the oldest stupas in Nepal, rich in Buddhist symbolism and spiritual atmosphere. This site also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.

Next on the list is Kathmandu Durbar Square, an ancient palace complex that displays centuries old art, architecture and history. It was also once a seat of Nepalese royalty.

After Kathmandu Durbar Square, you will visit Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and a major center of Tibetan Buddhism. You will visit this site to experience peace amidst the gentle rhythm of prayer flags, spinning prayer wheels and timeless traditions.

You will have your lunch here before heading on to your last destination, Pashupatinath.

The temple of Pashupatinath is the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a very important pilgrimage site for the followers of Hinduism across the world. Here, you can immerse in the traditional rituals and gain insight into Hindu beliefs and customs.

After visiting Pashupatinath, you will return to your hotel around late afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to prepare for the trek-time to pick up any last-minute essentials, double-check your gear and get everything organized so you feel relaxed and ready for the Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trekking journey ahead.

Overnight in a 5 star hotel in Kathmandu.

    Meals: Breakfast

  3. Today, on this luxury lodge EBC trek, you will fly to Lukla to start the trek. The journey from Kathmandu to Lukla is either on a direct flight or on a shared helicopter. Therefore, as per your airport reporting time, your guide will transfer you to the airport to fly to Lukla.

After airport formalities, you will fly to Lukla. The flight time is 25-30 minutes and the helicopter ride from Kathmandu to Lukla is about 45-50 minutes. Both flights and helicopters land at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Upon landing, you will meet your porters awaiting your arrival in Lukla and transfer your luggage to them.

Depending on the airport reporting time, this day’s breakfast will either be at the hotel in Kathmandu, packed or in Lukla.

Once in Lukla, you will begin your Everest Base Camp trekking journey heading towards your first nightstop, Phakding. Thus, your trekking journey today will be from Lukla to Phakding.  Perched lower in altitude than Lukla, Phakding is a very beautiful quiet Sherpa village located roughly 8 kilometers north of Lukla along the Dudh Koshi River. Hence, the trail goes mostly downhill through other small settlements of Sherpa people. Many parts of this section of the Everest base camp trekking trail is decorated with Mani stones, and fluttering colorful prayer flags that create a deeply spiritual and serene atmosphere along the way. Occasionally, you can also spot prayer wheels and small chortens, both central features of the region’s rich Buddhist heritage. This day’s walk will give you insight into the beliefs and culture of people living in the Everest region.

About a 4-hour walk from Lukla will take you to Phakding, where you will check into the lodge and have your lunch. Then, after a short rest, you will go on a guided acclimatization hike to the monastery located slightly above the village of Phakding, across the river. Spend some time taking in the spiritual vibes, before getting back to the lodge for dinner.

Overnight in a luxury lodge in Phakding.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  4. On this luxury lodge Everest Base Camp, the trek today is from  Phakding to Namche. Namche, commonly known as Namche Bazaar, is the biggest town in the Everest region and is the trading hub of the region. The hike begins after a hearty breakfast at your luxury lodge in Namche.

The trail, starting at Phakding, runs all the way up to the Hillary bridge, past Monjo and Jorsalle, along the Dudh Koshi river, before steeply ascending to Namche. Enjoying the walk through the cool rhododendron forest, crossing a number of exciting suspension bridges, you will hike to Monjo to enter the Sagarmatha National Park. From here onwards until you reach the base camp, the entire walk is inside the national park. Here, your guide will take care of the national park formalities, while allowing you to soak in the beautiful surrounding view. You will then hike down to Jorsalle for lunch. Continuing further on a gentle trail, after lunch, you will gradually make your way to the Hillary bridge. After crossing the bridge, you will reach the most challenging section of this day’s hike. It’s a long, sustained climb on a steeply ascending trail that stretches from Hillary bridge to Namche. The altitude gain is also maximum on this section. However, shortly after crossing the bridge, you will come to a view point that will bless you with the first view of the mighty Mt. Everest - a motivation, just when you need it the most. Continuing further, sharing the trail with fellow hikers, guides, porters and the yaks, donkeys and horses, you will reach the top, where the trail opens up to a horse-shoe shaped town bustling with tourists and locals.

Upon reaching Namche, you will settle into the luxury lodge pre-booked for you. You can spend the remaining hours of the evening either resting or relaxing in the lodge exploring the town of Namche.

Dinner and overnight stay in a luxury lodge in Namche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  5. Once above the altitude of 3000 meters, one acclimatization day is mandatory to allow your body to adjust to the thinning oxygen level in the air and minimize the risk of altitude sickness. To enhance the acclimatization process you will have to expose your body to the air higher than your sleeping spot. For this, you will go on an acclimatization hike. Your guide will give you two options: hike to the Hotel Everest View in Syangboche or a hike to Khunde or Khumjung Village.

The hike to Everest View Hotel, once recognized by Guinness World Records as the highest-located hotel in the world offers hikers a very beautiful panorama of the Himalayan giants including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

The hike to the villages of Khunde and Khumjung allows you to explore the cultural side of the Everest region. These villages have historic Khumjung Monastery that preserved and exhibits purported Yeti Scalp and Hillary School established by Sir Edmund Hillary and Khunde Hospital- established and supported by Mt.Hillary.

Both the options will allow you to expose your body to the air that is 300-400 meters higher than your sleeping spots. You will return by mid afternoon for lunch  and you can spend the evening either resting or exploring the town of Namche.

Overnight in a luxury lodge in Namche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  6. Today’s hike on this EBC luxury lodge trek is from Namche to Deboche. The village is beautifully located in the forest below the Tengboche Monastery.

Starting after a hearty breakfast in Namche, you will walk out of Namche and continue towards Sanasa. It’s an easy start as the trail only ascends gradually and gives you ample opportunities to immerse in the breathtaking view of Ama Dablam, that is best seen from a village called Kyangjuma, located roughly 4 kilometers from Namche. At Sanasa, the trail to Gokyo Valley also branches off from the main EBC trail.

Continuing on an EBC trail, from Sanasa, you will hike down to Phuki Tenga, through the forest. Phunki Tenga is a very popular stop for lunch. You will take your lunch here to refuel before tackling the trail ahead. After lunch, crossing the suspension bridge at Phunki Tenga, you will embark on the most challenging section of the day’s trail. It’s about a 2-hour hike through the forest of rhododendron and pine. Upon completing this ruthless climb, the trail opens up to the spiritual heart of the region, the village of Tengboche set amidst the surrounding views of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Lhotse, proudly flaunting the beautiful and the largest monastery in the region the Tengboche Monastery.

Here, you will explore the monastery area and if time permits and if you are interested, you can also observe the monks during their daily prayer, offering a quiet and meaningful cultural experience and blessings to the trekkers and the mountaineers.

After spending some time at the monastery, you will now hike down through the forest for about 20-30 minutes to get to your nightstop, Deboche, where your luxury lodge and dinner awaits your arrival.

  7. Today's walk on Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek is from Deboche to Dingboche. Although there are no challenging sections compared to the past few days, the trail begins to transition into the high-alpine terrain, where trees slowly fade out  giving way to alpine shrubs. The trail opens up to wide valleys surrounded by bare towering mountains.

After breakfast at the last luxury lodge en route to EBC, the trek to Dingboche begins. Continuing on a gently descending trail through the forest, you will head toward the last suspension bridge on the trail. As you cross the bridge, the character of the trek subtly changes- dense forest becomes sparse, the valley widens and peaks rise around you instead of trees.

Those preferring a quick detour can also visit the Pangboche Monastery, one of the oldest in the Everest region. Although much smaller in size than the Tengboche monastery, this monastery still holds profound spiritual significance for the local Sherpa community.

Continuing further, feel the shift into high-altitude terrain. The air grows crisp and thinner, directly affecting your pace. Lunch this day will be arranged either in Pangboche or Somare, allowing time to rest and take in the ever expanding mountain views. The afternoon walk is a gentle, gradual ascent through vast landscape, accompanied by breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Imja Tse and the impeccable view of the Imja Valley.

You will arrive in Dingboche by mid to late afternoon. You will check into the deluxe lodge (as luxury lodges are not available here) and enjoy your comfortable room and warm meal.

  8. Waking up in Dingboche, surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks, today is intentionally designed to help your body adapt smoothly to the high altitude while maintaining comfort and a relaxed pace. As you are now above 4,000 meters, proper acclimatization becomes essential—and this day blends gentle movement, breathtaking scenery, and restorative downtime to support your well-being.

After a leisurely breakfast at your deluxe lodge, you’ll choose from two carefully selected acclimatization hikes, guided by your trek leader based on your energy level and interest.

The most popular option is a half-day hike to Nangkartshang Viewpoint, a short but rewarding ascent just above Dingboche. Though the trail is steep, the climb is manageable and well paced. From the top, you’re rewarded with an extraordinary panoramic view of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Island Peak, and the sweeping Imja Valley below. You’ll return to Dingboche before lunchtime, leaving the afternoon free to relax, hydrate, and enjoy the comfort of your lodge.

For those seeking a longer and more immersive acclimatization experience, a full-day hike to Chhukung Valley is available. After breakfast, you’ll set out with a packed lunch on a gradual trail that steadily gains elevation. This extended time spent above 4,700 meters offers excellent acclimatization benefits. Chhukung is an important staging point for climbers heading to Island Peak, and the surrounding scenery is nothing short of spectacular—towering views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Lhotse, and massive glaciers spilling down from the high peaks. You’ll return to Dingboche in the late afternoon, pleasantly tired and well acclimatized.

The evening is yours to unwind, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, and reflect on the day’s Himalayan moments.

  9. Wake to the crisp mountain air of Dingboche and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, knowing today’s walk leads you deeper into the dramatic inner sanctum of the Everest region. With every step beyond Dingboche, the landscape feels wilder and more elemental—vast open valleys stretch ahead, glacial terrain replaces greenery, and the world’s highest peaks rise in silent authority around you.

Your expert guide sets a gentle, unhurried pace, perfectly attuned to the altitude. Regular pauses, mindful breathing, and steady hydration ensure the walk feels comfortable and restorative rather than strenuous. This is trekking at its most considered—where wellbeing and experience come first.

The trail heads north-west on a broad, gradually ascending path toward Thukla. This is an ideal section to find your rhythm while soaking in sweeping views of Cholatse, Tawache, and the unmistakable silhouette of Ama Dablam standing proudly in the distance. The dry, open landscape—punctuated by alpine grasses and grazing yaks—underscores just how far above the treeline you now are.

At Thukla, you’ll pause for a warm tea and a moment of quiet preparation before the climb ahead. The ascent to Thukla Pass is short but demanding, which is best tackled slowly and deliberately.

At the summit, a collection of stone memorials honors climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and an immense sense of stillness, this is one of the most poignant and reflective moments of the trek.

Beyond the pass, the trail softens as it traces the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Though rocky underfoot, the route is free of major climbs. The scale of the glacier and the surrounding snow-draped giants creates a powerful feeling of isolation and awe—raw, silent, and deeply humbling.

By late afternoon, you’ll reach Lobuche, a remote high-altitude settlement set against a stark alpine backdrop. After settling into the best available lodge, you can rest, warm up, and enjoy a nourishing dinner designed to support your body’s recovery at altitude.

Your guide remains attentive to your comfort and wellbeing, as the effects of elevation can be more noticeable here. Warmth, hydration, and proper rest are gently encouraged to ensure a peaceful night.

  10. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime day where preparation, perseverance, and privilege converge at the heart of the Everest region.

Today marks the most anticipated and emotionally rewarding day of your Himalayan journey—the legendary walk to Everest Base Camp. While the total distance is relatively short, the altitude adds a quiet intensity to every step. Your guide ensures a slow, deliberate pace, with frequent rest stops and mindful hydration, allowing your body to move comfortably and confidently in this extreme environment.

After an early breakfast in Lobuche, you set out along the glacial moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The trail rises gradually, weaving across rugged ground scattered with loose stones and ice-smoothed debris. Each footstep demands attention, yet the surroundings are nothing short of extraordinary. Massive Himalayan giants—Pumori, Nuptse, and Lingtren—tower above, their sheer scale creating a powerful sense of perspective and humility.

After several hours on this stark, high-alpine terrain, you arrive at Gorakshep, the final settlement on the Everest Base Camp route. Here, you check into your lodge and take a brief rest. Your main pack stays behind as you prepare for the final approach, carrying only essentials—water, camera, warm layers, and personal items—in a light daypack.

From Gorakshep, the path follows the ever-changing edge of the Khumbu Glacier, a section widely regarded as the most physically demanding part of the entire trek. Though there is minimal overall ascent, the trail undulates constantly over rock, ice, and glacial moraine. Progress is steady and intentional, with the focus on balance, breathing, and calm determination. This is a walk that rewards patience and presence.

By early to mid-afternoon, you arrive at the iconic Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)—a place that needs no introduction and few on earth ever experience. During climbing seasons, vibrant expedition tents scatter across the glacier, while the formidable Khumbu Icefall rises nearby, its frozen towers and crevasses forming a dramatic natural amphitheater. Mount Everest itself remains hidden from view, yet its presence is unmistakable. Standing here, surrounded by the world’s highest peaks, the moment feels profound—quiet, humbling, and deeply personal.

You’ll have ample time to capture photographs, take in the atmosphere, and savor the significance of reaching this legendary destination. When ready, you begin your return to Gorakshep, retracing your steps along the same glacial route at a relaxed and comfortable pace.

Back in Gorakshep by late afternoon, you can unwind with a warm meal, share stories, and reflect on an achievement that will stay with you long after the trek ends. As night falls over the high Himalayas, the sense of accomplishment settles in—calm, powerful, and unforgettable.

  11. It’s a day that perfectly balances triumph and transition—beginning with one of the world’s most iconic sunrise views and ending in well-earned comfort as you journey back toward gentler altitudes - the hike from Gorakshep to Pheriche.

Your day begins well before dawn, when the mountains are still wrapped in silence and the stars glow overhead. Layered against the cold and guided by the soft beam of your headlamp, you set out for the optional yet unforgettable ascent of Kala Patthar. The climb is short but steep, and at this altitude every step requires intention. Taken slowly and steadily, the effort feels challenging—but deeply rewarding.

Reaching the summit just as the sun breaks the horizon is often considered the defining moment of the Everest Base Camp trek. From this iconic viewpoint, Everest rises directly before you in all its grandeur, flanked by Nuptse, Pumori, Lingtren, and the sweeping expanse of the Khumbu Glacier below. As the first light touches the peaks, shades of gold, pink, and amber ripple across the Himalayas, creating a moment of rare beauty and quiet awe—one that lingers long after the descent.

After soaking in the views and capturing photographs, you make your way back down to Gorakshep, where a warm breakfast and time to rest await.

With energy restored, the journey continues as you begin your descent, leaving behind the stark glacial landscape of the upper Everest region.

The trail leads back past Lobuche and down toward Thukla, gradually easing as the altitude drops. Breathing becomes noticeably more comfortable, and the terrain transitions into wider valleys.

This day’s walk concludes in Pheriche, where a warm meal, comfortable lodge and surrounding awaits your arrival.

Dinner and overnight in a deluxe lodge in Pheriche.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  12. After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, you begin the scenic descent back toward Namche Bazaar. Although the trail is familiar, the lower altitude and richer oxygen make the walk noticeably easier and more enjoyable, allowing you to fully appreciate the surroundings.

Leaving Pheriche, the path winds gently downhill through wide alpine valleys, with lingering views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Tawache behind you. Passing Pangboche, the landscape gradually transforms from stark high-altitude terrain into greener meadows and shrubs, the air warming as your pace naturally relaxes.

Crossing suspension bridges and walking through forested sections near Deboche and Tengboche, the trail drops steeply through rhododendron and pine to Phunki Tenga, an ideal spot for a refreshing lunch. A final steady climb through forest brings you to Sanasa, where the trail levels out for a pleasant contour walk back into Namche.

By mid to late afternoon, you arrive in Namche Bazaar and settle into your deluxe lodge. The evening is yours to unwind—enjoy a hot shower, browse local bakeries and shops, or simply relax after completing the demanding high-altitude section of your trek.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  13. After a leisurely and well-earned breakfast at your lodge in Namche Bazaar, you begin the final walking day of your Everest Base Camp luxury lodge trek. Today’s journey leads you back to Lukla, following the familiar trail through the heart of the Khumbu. While the route is largely downhill, it remains a full and rewarding day on foot, best enjoyed at a relaxed, steady pace.

Leaving Namche, the path drops steeply toward the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way, you’re treated to a final, fleeting glimpse of Mount Everest—an unforgettable farewell to the world’s highest peak. The trail then slips into shaded forests of pine and rhododendron, where the air feels warmer and richer with oxygen. Crossing the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge, you continue along well-trodden paths lined with mani stones, prayer wheels, and small Sherpa settlements that reflect the deep spiritual heritage of the region.

The walk flows gently through Monjo and Phakding, with time to stop for a relaxed lunch. The easier terrain and comfortable altitude make this stretch feel almost effortless, offering space to reflect on the challenges conquered and the extraordinary landscapes experienced over the past days.

By afternoon, you arrive back in Lukla, where your Himalayan adventure officially comes to an end. After checking into your luxury lodge, you can unwind at your own pace—enjoy a hot shower, sip a warm drink, or simply celebrate the achievement with your trekking companions.

As evening settles in, you’ll share a heartfelt farewell with your porters and trekking staff, whose dedication and support made this journey possible. It’s a moment filled with gratitude, stories, and lasting connections formed on the trail.

"Several months ago, a friend of mine came back from world-round-trip and said, “A.B.C trekking is what you cannot see in any other places but Nepal”, and excitingly showed me a lot of incredibly beautiful pictures from the mountain and the country, Nepal. The story he shared caught my heart and strongly made me want to visit this country. And now, I also strongly recommend this adventure into wild nature. This is the reason why I am here, coming back from 10days Annapurna base camp(A.B.C) to write a review for one of the best agency (Adventure Mountain Explore Treks & Expedition P. Ltd) in Kathmandu and for you. What I have found during this trip is that this trip is therapeutic, educational, and exciting. First of all, in the mountain area, there are no such things as mobile, familiar TV show, disturbing noise, and annoying friends. You are literally surrounded by nature and all you can trust is your guide and your heart. You also have much free time in the mountain, which makes you think a lot about your future. Second, trekking is educational. You may see a various people from around the world as well as local people. This, I believe, is the best way of getting to know each other, as you will see them again and again during the trail. Exchanging their personal story and back ground helps you grow your personality as well. Third, it is exciting. There is no question about it. When I saw the panorama view from A.B.C, I got so excited that I could not take my camera away (I am sure I took more than 100 pictures and video there). That was defiantly worth it. Now, I am going to share a bit about my trekking partner, my guide, Lok Bhatta. He is friendly guy. He is not only experienced guide, but he knows how he can entertain us during the whole trip. His caring and his humor take up my good memory of trip. Since Lok and I spent 11days together, it is no wonder we became a best friends. Also he persistently looks after me. When I wanted him to take pictures, he always s..."

"My mother and I arrived in Kathmandu with just 2 days to prepare for a trek around Annapurna Circuit. We feel very lucky to have met Mr. Tika Regmi and through Adventure Mountain Explore treks we were able to hire a porter-guide to facilitate exactly the kind of trek we wanted, a self-directed trek with Nepali assistance. Our porter-guide Sujan was a trusted and integral part of our little trekking party. He was very knowledgeable about the route, its hotels and side trips, and he even introduced us to local people and gave us interactions with local Nepalese that we could not have experienced on our own, like a tea in the home of a local family! We couldn’t be any more pleased with our trek. Shanna Simmons 1152 Crescent Avenue Klamath Falls, OR 97601 USA shannasimmons@hotmail.com"

"Thanks Tika We arrived in Kathmandu on November 4, 2011 with hopes to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek to Muktinah. We had no firm guide or porters arranged as yet but were lucky to stay at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Thamel where we met Tika Regmi at the Hotel Blue Horizon. Tika is the director of Adventure Mountain Explore which wa located across the street. With Tika's expert help, our trek was arranged with an extraordinary guide, Sittal "Hom" Simkhada and two equally adept porters, Santosh Uperkoti and Sanjeep. Sittal knew the trail very well having done it more than 25 times. He provided information and insights about each peak and landmark along the way. He guided us up and down with care and confidence, setting a good pace that worked for each of us, our ages being 69, 67, and 30 years old. Sittal also got us to our teahouse rooms promptly and made sure we got our meals on time. We never had to ask for service; it was always provided with a smile. We enjoyed the camaraderie or our guide and porters and spent time playing cards together and exchanging stories. Clearly Sittal loved what he was doing and was experienced with every aspect of being a guide. When our daughter became ill along the way in Manang, Sittal conferred with Tika and we took an extra day to make sure all was well before continuing. There was no pressure to move on before we felt ready. When we reached the summit at Thorang la Pass we all celebrated together. It was a group achievement as well as a personal one for each of us. We are pleased to recommend Tika Regni as trek organizer and Sittal Simkhada as guide with our highest esteem and respect.
