Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, has said that he has been making his best efforts for the promotion of tourism as it is the backbone of the economic development of Nepal. Initiating the sale of buses of Higer Company of China on Wednesday, Ambassador Wu, who has been serving here since four months ago, said that he has been working with focus in the tourism promotion of Nepal. A business organisation of private sector β€œNepal International Business” has brought the buses into market targeting Chinese tourists. Stating that Nepal-China relation was established with the beginning of modern civilization and it was very harmonious, the Chinese Ambassador urged the Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in tourism sector of Nepal. He said he brought Chinese television operators in Nepal to make separate documentary of four placesβ€”Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini and screened them in China. Ambassador Chuntai said the number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal has increased due to impact of the documentary. He said a Chinese Film Company has recently shot all the scenes of a Chinese film in Nepal and it was in course of screening and expressed the belief that the film would further encourage Chinese tourists to visit Nepal. Managing Director of the authorized distributor of the buses of the Higer Company, Nepal International Business Pvt. Ltd, Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, drew the attention of the Chinese Ambassador to increase the number to Chinese tourists in Nepal and to operate direct air services from Shanghai and Beijing.
