Nepal organises Sales Mission in Scandinavian countries to attract tourists

Nepal has organised Nepal Sales Mission 2014 in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden after the conclusion of ITB 2014 as part of promotional activities across the world to attract tourists. The Nepal Sales Mission program was held in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm on 11, 13 and 17 March, respectively. The citizens of the Scandinavian countries possess a good amount of disposable money for travelling and luxury, and they are travelling in different parts of the world, said Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in a press statement. Speaking at the programme in Copenhagen and Oslo, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chairman of NTB, Sushil Ghimire aquainted the participants that the govenrment has given high priority to tourism promotion and development. “The is also taking various policy decisions to attract both visitors and investment in the tourism sector.” Nepal has been listed by the New York Times recently as one of the 52 destinations that one must visit. In the meantime, Tripadvisor.com, an international travel site, has declared Kathmandu, Nepal as the first choice of travelers for ‘on the rise destination in Asia and the third choice in the world’. Internationally renowned travel guidebook, Lonely Planet has listed Nepal’s Mustang, also known as Forbidden Kingdom, as one of the Top three regions in Best in Travel 2013.
