Minister Acharya urges tourism entrepreneurs to withdraw protest

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Bhim Acharya, has urged the agitating tourism entrepreneurs to withdraw their protest. Speaking at the programme in the capital on Saturday, Minister Acharya said the tourism entrepreneurs should come for talks by withdrawing the protest. As per the demand of the Joint Tourism Coordination Committee (JTCC), the government has postponed the 6th National Tourism Fair, said Acharya. Now, the entrepreneurs also have to be flexible towards the government, he added. He also expressed his commitment to resolve the issues at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The JTCC, a forum of travel and trade organisations, has been organising a protest programmes demanding probe into the financial irregularities at NTB along with immediate removal of the acting CEO, who is one of the candidates for the post, until the selection process in finalised. On the same occasion, Minister Acharya also made it clear that the government is not in favour to shut down the casinos.
