India, Nepal to jointly promote tourism

The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India has agreed to a proposal of the Nepalese travel trade to jointly promote the two countries as tourist destinations. A business delegation from Nepal had a meeting with Parvez Dewan, Secretary Tourism, Government of India, and other senior officials of MoT in New Delhi yesterday. The Ministry also agreed to a suggestion that tour operators from India and Nepal jointly offer tour packages to other countries, a release stated. The visiting delegation sought India’s cooperation in the development of hotel infrastructure in Nepal. They also suggested joint promotion and development of Buddhist sites in both countries.
