The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has credited special thanks to the government for including some positive programmes to promote tourism sector in the budget of Fiscal Year 2070/2071 B.S and welcomed it, state-owned news agency RSS reports. The Association has welcomed the budget saying it has continued the construction of international airport in Nijgadh, Gautam Buddha Regional Airport in Lumbini and including the Pashupati Development and Lumbini Development as the projects of national pride, The press statement issued by HAN here today, stated that the Association has appreciated the budget as it has given special significance to the tourism sector and allocated budget for the promotion of tourism, culture, expansion of different airports, and feasibility study of construction for new airports, among others and allocated budget of Rs. 1.81 billion. The HAN welcomed for allocating Rs. 130 million for renovation, protection and promotion of religious and cultural sites, which are important in archeological point of view, including Sworgawari of Pyuthan, Kakrebihar of Surkhet, Bhairab and Rishikesh of Palpa, Barahachhetra of Sunsari, Reshunga of Gulmi, Dhanushadham, Devghat and Halesi Mahadev of Khotang districts. Similarly, allocating Rs. 430 million for forwarding physical infrastructure development works to enlist Lomanthang of Mustang district in the World Heritage List, searching, protecting and promoting historical, religious and archaeological heritages as well as depicting art, culture, skill and materials of different communities and for others. The HAN also drew the attention of the government for the implementation of budget saying such types of programmes were not implemented even if attractive programmes for tourism development were included in previous budgets also.
