Alternative airport to be constructed at gudel VDS in Solu

An alternative airport is to be constructed at Gudel VDC in Solukhumbu district. The VDC across the Koshi River is considered as a remote Karnali of the district. With the construction of the airport, locals in the district and the locals of northern belt of neighboring districts Bhojpur and Khotang will be benefited. Internal and foreign tourists going for Mera-peak mountaineering and trekking for Arun Valley will be benefited, it is learnt. An engineering team including the newly elected CA member Bal Bahadur KC of the district has reached the VDC for survey of the airport, said Dawa Sherpa, secretary of Gudel Sherpa Kiduk Society. The airport will be named as Mahakulung, said secretary of Mahakulung Club, Surya Kulung.
