1. Preparation: Basic physical preparation including mental is the must to complete an adventure treks in the Himalayas. 2. Proper gears: proper seasonal gears required to complete high altitude treks 3. Walk slow: Climb very slow it helps as your body will easily adopt altitude. No rush! This is your mission not a race. Stop every 10 minutes for views to look around, ship water, have a long and easy breathe, take photos etc. 4. Drink plenty: You must drink 4-5 liters water per day. This way you never feel dehydrated. When you drink it is suggested to drink during day hours so you do not have to wake up at cold night for the toilet. It does not mean that you stop drink in the evening or at night. You must drink to ensure your mouth not too dry and you refill liquids. 5. Proper acclimatized: As a rule you always climb high sleep low. Thus when you finish for the regular day hike and check in to the lodge, have a short break and walk 250-300m above the lodge as evening climb. This way you can see the best views and your body adjust with an altitude. 6. Stay dry and warm: When you walk you may get sweet. You feel cold as soon as you stop for short break (tea break or lunch break). Please take your wet vest before you put your fleece on. This way your body will easily adopt with temperature. If you put jacket or fleece on wet vest you may catch cold, cough and chest infection. 7. Listen your guide: Your guide is the most important friend when you trek to the Himalayas. He knows what to do if you have any issues. He will suggest you the best based on the location you are at the moment. Please update every issues to your guide. If you do not tell your guide never knows. 8. Meals: When you hike you use loads of energy. Thus proper hygiene food is the must when you trek to the high altitude. There are basic meals available in general however balance diet is the most that you can get picked up from the menu. On your package trek you must pick your food not by the guide. Moreover do not eat meat as they are not fresh and not well cooked. Keep yourself healthy. Make sure your guide keep his eye at the kitchen when your meal order goes in. Also do carry energy bars and chocolate bars. 9. Picking the right trekking company and guide: Picking right agency is very hard thing since you are at your home country. However it makes huge role on your adventure. Professional company always hire qualified guides they are experienced and knowledge. Make sure your guide knows above keys. A professional company always do suggest you above.
