Nepal Airlines in 55 years

Nepal national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) marked its 55th anniversary on July 1.Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) was formed on 1 July of 1958 starting its service through DC-3. NAC operates at six international destinations -Delhi, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and Dubai at present with its 2 Boeings.NAC connects 24 destinations inside Nepal and offers ground handling services to different 23 international airlines. Meanwhile, tourism entrepreneurs have urged the government to purchase a large aircraft for national flag carrier to promote tourist inflow in the country. A meeting of the officials of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Hotel Association of Nepal, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, Nepal Association of Tour Operators, Nepal Association of Rafting Agents and other travel associations urged the government to buy large aircrafts keeping in view the problems of air seats for tourists visiting Nepal. Similarly, the associations urged the government to appoint a chief executive officer at Nepal Tourism Board as soon as possible. The CEO post is vacant since a long time at Nepal Tourism Board.
