We had a fantastic couple of weeks making our way to and from Everest Base Camp. My mum and I can not speak highly enough of Khem Regmi our guide and our ever smiling porter Jari. Khem was everything you would want in a guide, a wealth of information about the Khumbu region and its spectacular mountain ranges, a great sense of humour and most importantly a highly attuned sensitivity to the needs of us, his trekking wards. Before heading off for our adventure, Tika Regmi, gave us a thorough briefing with regard to the trek and what we could expect. During the trek Khem kept in constant contact with Tika, reporting on our progress and checking conditions for up and coming sections of the trek. All in all, our experience far exceeded our expectations - the landscape through which we walked was mesmerising, we met fantastic people along the way and Khem really made sure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves whilst at the same time giving us plenty of space to enjoy Nepal on our own terms. For us this was a great introduction to Nepal and the Khumbu, an compelling combination of stimulating hill climbs and tea-house camaraderie.
