A culturally rich and challenging trek

We bit off a bit more than we could chew with this trek. We found it more challenging than the Annapurna Circuit due to the steep inclines, and the fact that we chose not to use a porter on this trek. Without any previous experience we threw ourselves into the Tamang trek and despite the challenge we survived the 5 days of trekking and were rewarded with amazing views, authentic home stays in the unique mountain villages, as well as the life saving hot springs during the trek. Naba, our patient and professional mountain guide, although 2 years our junior, and a local to the region encouraged us, literally every step of the way, even carrying our sleeping bags when the weight got a bit too much. He always had our safety and wellbeing as his priority and went above and beyond our expectations by preparing and serving a delicious fruit platter every evening that left the other solo trekkers and guided ones with envy!!!! Can't recommend him enough. The whole experience was amazing with AME Treks and always happy to let my friends know about them and their services.
