Initially, trekkers get insight into the lifestyle and culture of Gurung people living around the first leg of the trail. 1. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our team representative will meet and greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Kathmandu. After checking into the hotel and a short rest one of the company representatives will meet you at the hotel lobby for a trip briefing and final payment settlement. After the meeting you can spend the time
    at leisure.

If your flight arrives in the afternoon, or in the evening or late at night, the meetings will be held the following day after the sightseeing tour. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

  2. The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, is famously known as the home to a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temples, ancient palaces and stupas reside in the capital city, making it a beautiful city to explore. Therefore, you will spend this day exploring these sites. Breakfast at the hotel and your city tour guide will pick you up from the hotel for the city tour. You will visit sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and the Kathmandu Durbar Square. After the tour you will be dropped back to your hotel for trek preparation and overnight stay.

If you have already visited these sites, you can also choose to visit Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changunarayan.

    Meals: Breakfast

  3. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the tourist bus station in Kathmandu to catch your bus to Pokhara that leaves around 7:00 am. You will start your journey to Pokhara in a luxury tourist bus. Pokhara is located 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu and the journey takes about 6-7 hours (provided that the road condition is good). Leaving Kathmandu, and soon following the Prithvi Highway that first runs along the Trisuli River and then along the Marsyangdi River you will drive to Pokhara. It’s a very scenic drive. The gushing river, terraced farms, hamlets, green hill, and the mountain views along the highway provide passengers many photo opportunities. The bus stops for lunch and a few toilet breaks along the highway, before reaching Pokhara. Once you reach Pokhara you will be transferred to the hotel booked for you. Your guide will help you check into the hotel and you can spend the remaining time at your leisure. You can choose to rest at the hotel but the best way to spend your time is to stroll around the lake area and enjoy a boat ride in the Phewa Lake.Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

    Meals: Breakfast

  4. Breakfast at the hotel and you will drive to Kande to start your Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek. Pokhara to Kande is only about an hour drive. The trail starting at Kande first leads you to Australian Camp, located 4.5 kilometers and 2 hours from Kande. The hike is steep but is mostly on a well-laid stone trail that passes through forest and a few Gurung Villages. On reaching the Australian Camp, you can enjoy a mesmerizing view of the peaks in the Annapurna range and Lamjung Himal. Short rest at Australian Camp and you will hike down to Pothana, which is prominent Gurung Village along the way. It’s roughly a 45 minute walk through lush green tranquil forest. Enjoy magnificent views of Machhapuchhre from Pothana. From Pothana, a leisurely walk for about an hour will take you to Pitam Deurali, your night stop for today. Enjoy wonderful views of the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Overnight in a lodge in Pitam Deurali.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  5. Today you will hike to the Forest Camp, located roughly 7.5 kilometers north-east of Pitam Deurali. After breakfast in Pitam Deurali, following the trail that forks east from the Annapurna Base Camp trekking trail, leaving the village areas, you will enter the forest of Rhododendron, Oak, Birch and Hemlock. The entire walk today to the Forest Camp is through the forest and is a very pleasant experience; however, it’s recommended to be careful as the trail is narrow, mostly on the forest ridge, covered with gnarled roots and sometimes gets slippery. During spring, the Rhododendron blooms, adding color to the otherwise green forest and giving trekkers the feeling of walking under a canopy. Most of the trail today goes up. The descents are very few in number. After about a 5 hour walk through the forest you will finally reach the Forest Camp, where you will check into the lodge. This night will be spent in a very tranquil forest enjoying cool fresh air, songs of the insects and chirping of birds.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  6. From the Forest Camp, today you will trek to Badal Danda located roughly 4.5 kilometers north east of the Forest Camp. You will start after breakfast and continue up through the forest of Rhododendron for about 40 minutes before reaching the Rest Camp. From the Rest Camp you can see a beautiful view of the forked trail of Machhapuchhre. After a short rest at this place you will, about 2 hours hike further up north will take you to the Low Camp. You will have your lunch here and then continue your journey to Badal Danda, which takes about 1-2 hours. Leaving the forested area you are now slowly heading towards the treeline. The last leg of this journey is on the ridge that presents impressive views of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal and the Annapurna South. From Badal Danda you can see a heaven-like view of the sea of clouds. Once you reach the Badal Danda, you will check into the lodge for overnight stay.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  7. The trek from this day onward is above the treeline. Today you will hike from Badal Danda to the High Camp, which is located approximately 3.5 kilometers north of Badal Danda. Leaving Badal Danda, following the stone laid trail that goes up and down the ride, you will hike out of Badal Danda. By now, you will completely leave the treeline and continue along the ridgeline enjoying the grand views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and the Mardi Himal and lush green valley. Mardi Himal lies right in front of you. Grander than Mardi Himal looks Machhapuchhre. The only plant life that you can now see are the small shrubs. Continue hiking on the ridgeline and after about 2-3 hours of leaving Badal Danda, you will reach the high camp. HIgh camp is your last overnight stop above treeline and before reaching the Mardi Himal Base Camp. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the ridge and enjoying the views of the peaks in the Annapurna region. Overnight in a lodge in the High Camp.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  8. Wake up early in the morning and climb up to the viewpoint located above the High Camp to enjoy the sunrise view from the High Camp. After enjoying the view, get back to the lodge for breakfast and continue your journey to the Base Camp located roughly 4.5 kilometers from the High Camp. You will start your walk by first hiking up to the ridge and continue toward the base camp by following the ridgeline. As you approach the base camp, the views of the Annapurna South, Tent Peak, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and the Mardi Himal grow massively impressive. Enjoy the view, capture them in your camera or mobile and continue to the base camp. However, do not forget to carefully tread as the ridge trail grows very narrow in this section of the trail. A 2-3 hours hike from the High Camp will take you to the Mardi Himal Base Camp. Spend some time taking in the views of the surrounding and retracing the steps you will hike back to the High Camp for overnight stay. Overnight in the lodge in the High Camp.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

  9. Your return journey begins from the High Camp. Hiking the distance of about 8.5 kilometers, you will hike down to Siding from the High Camp. You will retrace your steps down till the Low Camp. At the Low Camp, the Mardi trail bifurcates. One heads back to the Forest Camp and the other one towards Siding Village. Following the trail that heads to Siding Village, you will continue your return journey on a steeply descending trail that goes through the forest of Rhododendron to Siding. A 3 hours walk from the Low Camp will bring you down to the village of Siding, where the Mardi Himal trek ends and you will catch a jeep to Pokhara. Siding to Pokhara is about a 2 hours drive and the road is very scenic. In Pokhara, you will be dropped off to the hotel booked for you for your overnight stay. You can spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

    Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

  10. The journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu can be taken on a plane or a bus according to your preference. However, as per this package, the transportation booked for you is a luxury tourist bus. Therefore, early in the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the tourist bus station to catch your bus to Kathmandu. You will reach Kathmandu in about 6-7 hours (provided the road condition is good and that you are not stuck in a traffic jam. Once in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel and in the evening a company representative will meet you for farewell dinner and feedback. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

    Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

  11. Breakfast at the hotel and as per your airport reporting time, you will be transferred to the airport in a private car/jeep to help you catch your onward flight.

    Meals: Breakfast

"Several months ago, a friend of mine came back from world-round-trip and said, “A.B.C trekking is what you cannot see in any other places but Nepal”, and excitingly showed me a lot of incredibly beautiful pictures from the mountain and the country, Nepal. The story he shared caught my heart and strongly made me want to visit this country. And now, I also strongly recommend this adventure into wild nature. This is the reason why I am here, coming back from 10days Annapurna base camp(A.B.C) to write a review for one of the best agency (Adventure Mountain Explore Treks & Expedition P. Ltd) in Kathmandu and for you. What I have found during this trip is that this trip is therapeutic, educational, and exciting. First of all, in the mountain area, there are no such things as mobile, familiar TV show, disturbing noise, and annoying friends. You are literally surrounded by nature and all you can trust is your guide and your heart. You also have much free time in the mountain, which makes you think a lot about your future. Second, trekking is educational. You may see a various people from around the world as well as local people. This, I believe, is the best way of getting to know each other, as you will see them again and again during the trail. Exchanging their personal story and back ground helps you grow your personality as well. Third, it is exciting. There is no question about it. When I saw the panorama view from A.B.C, I got so excited that I could not take my camera away (I am sure I took more than 100 pictures and video there). That was defiantly worth it. Now, I am going to share a bit about my trekking partner, my guide, Lok Bhatta. He is friendly guy. He is not only experienced guide, but he knows how he can entertain us during the whole trip. His caring and his humor take up my good memory of trip. Since Lok and I spent 11days together, it is no wonder we became a best friends. Also he persistently looks after me. When I wanted him to take pictures, he always s..."

"My mother and I arrived in Kathmandu with just 2 days to prepare for a trek around Annapurna Circuit. We feel very lucky to have met Mr. Tika Regmi and through Adventure Mountain Explore treks we were able to hire a porter-guide to facilitate exactly the kind of trek we wanted, a self-directed trek with Nepali assistance. Our porter-guide Sujan was a trusted and integral part of our little trekking party. He was very knowledgeable about the route, its hotels and side trips, and he even introduced us to local people and gave us interactions with local Nepalese that we could not have experienced on our own, like a tea in the home of a local family! We couldn’t be any more pleased with our trek. Shanna Simmons 1152 Crescent Avenue Klamath Falls, OR 97601 USA shannasimmons@hotmail.com"

"Thanks Tika We arrived in Kathmandu on November 4, 2011 with hopes to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek to Muktinah. We had no firm guide or porters arranged as yet but were lucky to stay at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Thamel where we met Tika Regmi at the Hotel Blue Horizon. Tika is the director of Adventure Mountain Explore which wa located across the street. With Tika's expert help, our trek was arranged with an extraordinary guide, Sittal "Hom" Simkhada and two equally adept porters, Santosh Uperkoti and Sanjeep. Sittal knew the trail very well having done it more than 25 times. He provided information and insights about each peak and landmark along the way. He guided us up and down with care and confidence, setting a good pace that worked for each of us, our ages being 69, 67, and 30 years old. Sittal also got us to our teahouse rooms promptly and made sure we got our meals on time. We never had to ask for service; it was always provided with a smile. We enjoyed the camaraderie or our guide and porters and spent time playing cards together and exchanging stories. Clearly Sittal loved what he was doing and was experienced with every aspect of being a guide. When our daughter became ill along the way in Manang, Sittal conferred with Tika and we took an extra day to make sure all was well before continuing. There was no pressure to move on before we felt ready. When we reached the summit at Thorang la Pass we all celebrated together. It was a group achievement as well as a personal one for each of us. We are pleased to recommend Tika Regni as trek organizer and Sittal Simkhada as guide with our highest esteem and respect.
